In April when Joss announced that Dollhouse'srecurring character November would be played by newcomer Miracle Laurie, I mentioned her ukulele cover band, Uke Box Heroes, but at the time there was no way to listen to them. I hadn't noticed until now, but it looks like in early July they put up a MySpace page (myspace.com/ukeboxheroes) with a couple songs for your listening pleasure (America'sTin Man and the oft-covered 20's tune You Belong to Me.)
According to Laurie's official website, Uke Box Heroes began a couple years ago after the actor was introduced to the ukulele through her mother's Hawaiian group, which she's a dancer in. Christopher May, who has appeared in Buffy,Bones, and The Shield, sings vocals and makes the other half of the duo.
Her site, miraclelaurie.net (the .com was registered by a fan the day Joss announced her involvement in Dollhouse, and Miracle, flattered, said he could keep it), says to "stay tuned for upcoming show dates."

Hi campers. We're havingthe read-through of the script today. Why would I be nervous? YOU'RE nervous!Anyhoo, I just couldn't resist letting you know that the recurring roles have actually been cast for some time now. I'm shocked that any part of our casting process hasn't been leaked somehow. And though I'm a fan of secrets, I'll giveyou the last two pieces of this particular puzzle:
November (who will berecurring but does not appear in the pilot) will be played by the luminousMiracle Laurie.
Dr. Claire Saunders will be played by... yet another name I'm gonna have trouble remembering how to spell... Amy Acker.
All in all, pound for pound, soup to nuts, man vs beast, it's a pretty amazing ensemble. I'm not sure how I landed this troupe, but rest assured I'm gonna write bestest good word for talkacting to them yes! They're in good hands.
Onward... to adventure!-j.

Miracle Laurie, who joins the cast as recurring doll November, only has one credit to her name (Medical Investigation), although her detailed resume includes a bunch of theater mostly performed at Orange Coast College and University of California Irvine, where she studied drama. Miracle is listed as ukulele player and vocalist in a ukulele cover band called Uke Box Heroes, which is kinda awesome, and according to her management's website Polynesian dancing is one of her "special skills".

November, one of the human dolls and recurring character on the show, will be played by Miracle Laurie. A relative newcomer to television yet experienced theatre actress, 26-year-old Laurie has an interesting resume that includes some modelling and dance, as well as leading roles in theatre productions of Jesse and the Bandit Queen, Eastern Standard and The Tempest. (Older Whedon fans will probably recall the odd Tempest reference in Firefly and Serenity and have a happy geek moment hearing that she played Ariel once.)

Okay. This last casting tidbit, that Joss Whedon leaks so proudly on Whedonesque, has entrenched itself alongside all the other nonsense that pervades Jonathan’s soul. “November (who will be recurring but does not appear in the pilot) will be played by the luminous Miracle Laurie.”, riffs Whedon. A short stroll into the world of Miracle Laurie reveals but one screen credit, but further investigation yields the real treasure that hits close to home. Miracle Laurie is vocalist and uke player in the ukelele cover band –that’s right ukelele cover band- Uke Box Heroes. This made my year. Part of me thinks that she came into a reading, and wowed the pants off of everyone. The rest of me, though, hopes to discover that Whedon was out of town, sitting in some crazy, near-the-airport bar. Amidst fog, lasers, mirrors, loads of hairspray, eyeliner, and platform shoes, young Miracle Laurie takes the stage, wailing away on a sweet cocktail of Ozzie Osbourne, AC/DC, Elton John, and Neil Diamond covers.
Thank you Joss Whedon! I love you!

Also cast in Dollhouse: Medical Investigation's Miracle Laurie (a name almost as awesome as CharismaCarpenter!) who will play the aforementioned November, another of theDollhouse's Actives who will recur in the series.

MiracleLaurie.com -- TheDomain
I currently own the"MiracleLaurie.com" domain -- I bought it when I heard that she was going to be a regular on the show. I figured, if Joss thinks she's a great actress, I probably will as well. The domain is currently redirecting to this forum for her, but that may change in the future.
If anybody has contact with Miracle and thinks that she may want to use this domain for her own official site, please let me know and I will gladly give it to her... it is HER name after all!
If I enjoy her on Dollhouse, I think I may create a fansite for her... but until then it is justpointing here.
[Hi Nathan – go ahead and keep it. She was actually very flattered when we went to find a domain for her and miraclelaurie.com was already taken. Somebody has to create a fansite for her, right?] : )

Whedon also broke the newsthat "November" will be played by Miracle Laurie. Details are scarce on who "November" is, and Whedon says she "will be recurring, but will not appear in the pilot." … As for Laurie, whom Whedon refers to as "luminous," the actress is a newcomer sporting only one credit to her name – a guest spot on Medical Investigation.
